Am taking a look back at this year and thought I'd let you know that I did finish knitting all of the cotton yarn I bought to knit garter dish cloths. Some of it went into Swiffer covers instead for variety.
As it stands, I have less yarn now than I had at the start of the year. Not all that much less, but some, which is good. I don't currently have any plans to acquire more yarn, nor fibre to spin for that matter. Sometime when I have a bit of surplus in my clothing budget, I'd like to buy a sweater quantity of yarn.
Half of the local GCN fleece remains to be washed. I compounded the problem by adding to the stash a couple of pounds of unwashed Leicester longwool locks from a friend's flock. I got some naturally dyed local GCN top and started spinning it. Unfortunately the top is a little felted from the dyeing, making it difficult to draft.
I knitted another scarf for myself that I have not worn. I used a commercial yarn in undyed wool and silk because I think undyed yarn is cool but unfortunately I dislike the way I look in a cream colour.
I've been pretty regular in attendance at the handspinners guild, weavers guild, and charity crafting group meetings. I went to a Chesapeake Fibershed meetup and number of fibre festivals. Being around skilled, productive, and involved people is a joy.
